How to arrange a Word document in reverse chronological order?

Question by sj2nj6069: How to arrange a Word document in reverse chronological order?
I have an existing Word document with quotes, followed by dates. Is there a way I can auto-arrange these in reverse chronological order (the most recent date first)? Or do I need to import the document into Excel and do it that way? If I import the document into Excel, how would I auto-arrange in that program? Do I need to put the document into columns according to content?

The document needs to end up as a Word document. Thanks for any advice!

You can sort them if you put them in a table in Word. So, create a two column table, place your quotes in one column, and the dates in another. Place your cursor in the table, click Table on the menu bar, choose Sort, and choose which columns to sort by. If you have the dates in Column 2, choose Sort By Column 2, Then By Column 1 (if your quotes are in column 1).
